weird
It’s funny, reading back through the various projects I’m working on you can actually tell where I was drinking and where I was sober. The sober stuff does actually suck.

I’ve just brought an old Atari ST520FM. No idea what the hell I’m going to do with it but hey, I own a working chunk of my childhood.
Cost? £16.99 all in.
Fleabay, for all your needs I guess.
for more speeding legislation and enforcment. I watched it on the news today, 14 year old crashes car at 100mph+ killing himself and passenger.
The people interviewed all said he was a good kid and that they needed more speed enforcment to stop dangerous drivers and speeders.
He wasn’t a nice boy. He stole a car and killed both himself and someone else, causing who knows how much damage to private property (and undoutedly writing off the car in the process). No amount of speed cameras, vans or ‘traffic calming’ would have stopped him from driving at those speeds because… he neither had a license to loose (14 years old remember) nor had a car to drive (by virtue of the lack of license he must have stolen… or as the police say… Taken WithOut Consent) at those speeds.
I’m sorry to the family of the driver for your loss but, your son wasn’t a nice person; he stole something that wasn’t his and proceded to commit both manslaughter and unintentional suicide. We don’t need more legislation, he was already breaking several laws by doing what he did.
Well, the deed is done, the law looks to be hitting the shelves as it were. Here in good old Blighty we’ve only gone and banned “violent pornographic images”. Slashdot is it’s usual self and the BBC website is, naturally reporting on it.
Lets be clear about this, we’re not talking about written works or moving pictures (i.e. video) this is simply pure, still images… but only those featuring real people, hand drawn works don’t count. I’m sorry but I can’t take this piece of legislation seriously, it’s revolving around a single person who by anyones description was/is fruitloops who after viewing rape fantasy pron went out… and actually killed someone. Pretty much the same as most of the gun laws in this country have hotly followed the actions of a single insane person.
Look, I’m really sorry for the loss of the family of Jan Longhurst, the person whom was killed but seriously, you had to of realised that the guy in question was viewing images that are, in fact, fake. Works of digital editing; makeup artist skills; good lighting and not someone actually raping someone else! You’re not only banning ‘the real deal’ which probably doesn’t exist (I’d put this in the same category as snuf films and we know the line from 8mm) but your also banning faked.
Of course, rape fantasy isn’t the only subject covered. The letter of the law is basically anything which appears to but another person in jepordy of being injured or life threatened. That’s basically any faked (or real) BDSM scene right there! There is also talk of rewording the law (haha, right) to ban images which and I quote “tend to deprave and corrupt”. So that’ll become a “think of the children” crusade and all pronography, regardless of content will be banned.
If any of the moral, whining, minority of hand wringers do find this article… don’t bother leaving a comment because I’m not going to authorise them. You’ve had your say already!
Lately I’ve been playing old games, call it going back to my youth and playing all the stuff I was never able to. SCUMMVM has been a god send in getting them going, point n’ shoot in fact; which is both novel and nice. Yes, I’ve been playing all the old Lucasarts games (The Dig, Loom, Indy 4 and so on), what I’m impressed about isn’t the graphics; c’mmon these games date back to the mid 90’s in some cases they aren’t going to challenge a Core 2 and 7900GS, it’s the story lines and voice acting. I’m actually finding it all rather engrossing after a mammoth session of Dawn of War, EVE on-line and such. I’m currently working my way through The Dig and it’s probably one of the best science fiction games I’ve played… just because of the story line and story telling involved. (more…)
It’s from London… it has NHS headed paper. It originated in Fulham. Yep, it’s from Charing Cross. Ya know? I should be over the moon about this, finally getting things sorted out. The problem is I’ve heard ALL the horror stories; up to an including them getting shitty and wiping patient records. And I figured I’d have an open mind. (more…)
Nanaia doesn’t want to talk to me at the momment. And to be quite honest I’m just not happy pushing the characters around; it might bolster the page/word count… but I honestly couldn’t tell you if it’s good or crap that I’m producing. I’m leaning on crap hence the break.
But, I have started working on another project, this one isn’t your usual sci-fi fare, nor is it the long awaited re-imaging of the Firestorm legion, that one is… still on a back burner whilst I work on the full story arc.
This one is set, much like ‘legions’ in the here and now. Not alternate history, not parallel worlds like legions… right here… right now; but is fiction of a sorts. I call it, provincially “A handmaids tale” (which is, quite famously taken) or “Diary of a Maid” because that’s what I’m aiming for; the memoires of a BDSM maid, usually a cross-dressed man thus making this, if only by virtue of its subject matter… AO/18 rated.
So far I’ve got this and I’m happy with it:
“Good girl, such a very good girl.” I hear those words and to be honest my world gets tunnel vision.
Although I should really stop, this would end up reading like some trashy fiction on the Mistresses website; not that I intend to keep this wholly factual… there are something’s and some people in this world who are far more power than Mistress is… even if they do all simper equally in a petticoat and dress. It would not be wise for me to upset them; both on a personal and professional level, after all Mistresses clients to pay the bills and thus give me pocket money
Which does kind of go with the flow of what I’m aiming at.
That’s why the UK Mirror Service… is currently 503ing (server at/beyond capacity).
For those wondering, check the date of the post and the Ubuntu release shedules.
This one dates back to Windows 2000 and Windows XP (not Sp1 or SP2, but I’ve not tried since) and an ATi All-in-Wonder. Did you know that with that card install in an AGP socket… for it was an ATi card, that neither version of Windows would install? They’d actually go for an infinite loop just before the graphical main installer kicked in.
Building that system was a ROYAL pain in the ass, as I had to put an Nvidia card in (from my own system) just to install Windows THEN replace the ATi once the first boot had completed.
Despite not actually working properly under the vintages of Linux avaliable then (and I believe it’s still not supported… thanks ATi) the installers, graphical or not… WOULD FREAKING WORK!
So, the hippies are trying to boycott China due to their human rights violations in Tibet; reasoning being it will hurt them during the Olympics. Whilst I do applaude such behaviour I wonder, if perhaps, one of these hippies could tell me where exactly they were 50 god damn years ago? Hmm?
Ohh yes, NOW you want to boycott the single largest manufacturing base in the world, the country described as “the west’s factory” because they’ve invaded another country and aren’t treating the indigenous population right? Guess what. Too. Late. Yes, you can try and boycot everything comming out of that country but companies using them already work around it: Assembled in <country> is used a LOT these days to hide where the parts inside were manufactured (usually Malasia, China or Tiawan) and guess what? You lot love the cheap crap they make.
Should China have ever got the Olympics? No, not really, those who actually believed they’d let up on Tibet were exceptionally stupid but the deal has been done and it’s far far too late now.
Should of, could of, would of, 50 years ago and you might have had a chance
